First off, we hate downtown LA. It’s horrible. It’s hard to get anywhere, even when you know where you’re going. We try as much as we can to not go downtown. Too much traffic, too many people, and too many one-way streets. We got downtown an HOUR early. It took us half an hour to find a parking area that was close enough and wouldn’t cost $3 for 12 minutes (that was the exact price of the first parking area we went into – and drove right back out of) – and part of that half hour was spent getting lost. Another lesson learned. Downtown LA = Not our friend.
Other than that, the actual home study went well. We actually got a lot of insight into how to help Chloe adjust – something that we’re worried about but never thought about asking our social worker. We talked for a little over 2 and half hours – mostly about Chloe. Our home visit will be June 21st. I want to do a ton of cleaning and some decorating between now and then. I went to Kohl’s yesterday and got a rug for the kitchen and photo albums. I organized all of our photos yesterday. Today I’ll attack, clean, and organize the bathrooms and kitchen. Then next week I can finish the rest of the downstairs, and get the upstairs the weekend after. I like being able to organize and take control. Phew!
